Passion. Diligence. Acceptance.

Adaptive Connections was born out of necessity, to change the narratives surrounding Autism as well as ABA.

Autism has been perceived by most as a disability, a diagnosis that must be treated in order for the individual to fulfill their potential, but this is a LIE!

Applying the science of ABA to the ‘treatment’ of Autism has been considered the ‘gold standard’ for many years, however, historically the application of ABA principals to the treatment of Autism have been grounded in ableism, coercion, and lack of consideration for the child’s internal world such as their feelings and sensory experiences.

The good news is that all of this is starting to change! The ABA community is beginning to recognize that a shift in form is needed if we intend to truly help positively impact the lives of Autistic people. Flexibility, listening to autistic voices, and using methods that are not only consented to by the child’s caregivers, but the child as well.

Our world and our collective perspective is in the midst of a huge shift. We are starting to see that our external worlds are a reflection of our internal worlds, and that peace can only come from within. By combining ABA with this notion, we are seeing that extraordinary outcomes require peeling back the layers and simplifying life, not making it more complex with scientific jargon.

This is the energy that sets us apart. It is time to put the heart back into what we do

Building Relationships, Bridging Gaps, and Making Connections.
